Issue Six page 16--Hoisting the flag!

The bottom panel is almost an exact re-creation of the actual newspaper photograph. It was fun to see how close to the real world I could keep this. You all may have noticed I try to blend the actual with the imagined seamlessly enough to be totally believable. As noted here, Elena and Alley are actually very real people whom I am at least acquainted with if not actually friends (Elena has been over for dinner…) The thing to remember–and it will be important as this story progresses–this is a work of imagination. I use real places and events (sometimes people, with permission) and sometimes I speculate or infer attributes that may or may not be in fact real. This is all for the sake of the story, and is not meant to be taken as truth or actual.
Alley and Elena, by the way, are very truly gorgeous girls…in the flesh…
