Uh oh…are we about to push the Comic’s Code to the limit?!? Stay tuned kiddies! Actually, not. The Code has evolved these past few years. Of course ‘NO FULL FRONTAL NUDITY’ still applies, but nipples may bullet or be outlined if at least visibly obscured—same with lower genitalia. The biggest changes have had to do with the Code’s about face on same sex love issues which are now much more socially acceptable than they were in my youth. My daughter went to school and played soccer with two lesbian couples—who apparently thought nothing of ‘making out’ in the school hallways. And while yaoi relationships were also fairly well represented in her school (a private school…of course) their open display was sadly less well tolerated—especially by testosterone laden jocks with tiny brains and less feelings. However, even this is changing as lots of comicbooks on DD show. This is all to the good in my book, and I intend to show in this book that it is not what sex your lover is that matters! I will still try to keep the Comic Code alive…mostly.
