I've been thinking about a certain genre of comics lately, the ones people make about video games. Some of them are about people do in them, and/or poke fun at the many tropes within the virtual world. I think it is an appealing concept, albeit at this point it is a genre that has been done to death.
My issue with these kinds of comics, especially story driven comics that delve into this genre, is that you actually have to play video games on at least a daily basis in order to have relevant sources to draw from. Recently, I got this game called "warframe" and I have been having a great time with it. However, because I want to do this comic I have had to tear myself from the game constantly in order to get some drawing time in.
I feel that this is a common problem among artists trying to write gaming related stories, because at times you can start to lose yourself within that hobby and eventually start rushing your work just to get back to playing video games. It certainly was an issue for me, but I think there's a certain balance one can stumble upon between work and play (or play and play depending on how much you enjoy making comics).
