Designed metaphors

I have one major problem with ID and their "design" and "information". For one, anything can appear to be designed, because we as a species look for order and pattern. By extension, we look for intelligence as well, because our minds need to be stretched to consider the possibility that there is no order or purpose behind the universe, at least as we perceive it.

Of course, leave it up to ID proponents to capitalize on our primal desire to see ourselves in everything, and posit the ancient god Yahweh instead of pitiless, indifferent, simple chance change over vast amounts of time.
