Edit: Ooh, there's a bit of reader confusion. Okay, here's the clarification, which I probably should've taken more time on as inclusion of additional panels/pages.

HU mission issued Phase 2, which sent a group (including little Claire to aid the rest of the folks in the van) to find Kreed, figuring she can see what they can't. I was hoping that the grayscale backgrounds would clearly separate what can and can't be seen by un-aided eyes (so Kreed, Masao's life force, and Claire's Guardian are all visible only to each other and Claire).

From the David mission, I've hinted that Claire has a guardian already and that's who that blonde with the spear is. Her dialogue here is to hint that Kreed was actually previously a guardian of something himself.

The history will be revealed shortly, to briefly touch up on Kreed's origin, so just bare with me for a few. Heh heh.
