Metempsychosis: page 10
Freakeh on"Why, yes, Z., I would -love- to return to your brother my master and explain that I was unable to eliminate the girl, and also to relay a message from the twin he tried to kill when he was six years old! Just let me get a pen and some paper…"
yes I am indeed mocking my own comic.
Hmm this page did not come out as I wanted it to. The effects of the Donovan turning into their shadow form… did not come out well. I think it would just confuse people rather than explaining more about Them. (If you are one of those confused, here's a hint: there are actually four Donovan in the second panel.)
And Z.'s pose in the third! Oh my god! I was posing myself for it and everything, but I still could -not- -draw- it even though my mental picture of it was so clear! But I sort of like the Donovan's pose in that panel, so it evens out… somewhat… I did not have a clue what the sound effect of Z.'s attack should be. I don't have a lot of experience with sticking swords through people… Thanks to Oren for helping me with that. :3
I hope everyone will start to see, over the next few pages, that the Donovan aren't just "bad" for the sake of an antogonistic force. just because they're fighting to overtake the world doesn't mean they're evil as individuals. ;P I'm so happy some people have noticed that the Donovans -do- have an emotional range, because they do indeed have psychological reasoning behind their actions and still have all the flaws of the humans they used to be.
Again I must apologise for falling behind on my favourite comics -again-… It must seem to you the readers that I'm -always- in an emotional slump. But it's just because it's the weekend, I'm happy during the week.
But anyway, I'll stop ranting now. And start responding:
@Tantz: This is true… No matter what people say, killing can never be -good-, even if it's -for- good. At this point I want to reaffirm that Z.'s attacks don't do any physical damage, apart from moving the body due to impact.
I think I left it too late to do that, as I forgot until today when I relooked at the scripts what was coming on the next page specifically, but I shall try to get your advice before I have to start drawing it. xD
@Twin: Aww thank you, you are much too kind. ^_^ I like dark vs light situations as well, as long as there is a reason behind the fight apart from "omg fight between opposing forces 'cause it sounds cool lol". I don't like not having substance behind a story arc. xD
@Brokenhill: "Oh crap! I've an arrow in my head which I thought wasn't that bad but it really is"? xD
@Rubygem: Basically. =3 "You can't kill me as I have no life for you to take."
@Ryedel6: Aww thank you =3
@EmilyTheStrange: W00t Medieval Woodcuts! XD *goes to look up what they are*
@animegal: xD They know this, and thus they tried to kill her before she came a threat. However, they were unable to find her -before- Z. became her protector… it's ironic. =3 Maybe you will see that irony too once it gets explained -how- Zotia found them xD
@pv_chan: Not quite, it seems xD
@Luminous: I didn't think about the arrow showing through the eye until I had already drawn it xD and yea, i find it creepy too… The concept, at least.
Awww thank you ^_^
@magicalmisfits: xDD The Donovan got too arrogant that he could survive anything, he didn't account for energy to cause an effect.
@kyupol: Thank you! =3
@insanelysane: aww thank you I'm glad you noticed the arrow going behind his eyes x3 And I think this page answered your question about what Z. was going to do =D They are indeed sweat-dropping xD I like being silly where the Donovan are involved.
@magick: XDD It is too infinite a concept for human minds to grasp!
@LowResAtari: thank you =3 And sorry that I don't have an explanation about the bow that's better than, "It just -is-, okay?" xD;;
@Jashiku: Aww Naruto looks so cute in your avatar. :3 Thank you for thinking them pretty x3
@eko: XDD I think every boy/girl main-character pairing seem similar, on the surface..
Yea I'm really glad with how my art has been improving. I hope I continue to do so =3 As for characters, in order to -be- believable, you have to give them time to grow, develop, and then for that development to be -shown- in the current situation. :3 Both Z. and Miyoko are very real to me, and their personalities have meaning behind them… now it's just a matter of time for the comic to catch up with that.
@simonitro: You've got it exactly =3
@Oren: Ahh but Miyoko is not like Z. … XD She is different. And omg I know gossip about Z. and Miyoko that you don't know D: (obviously)
The Donovan work -for- Zotia as he was the one who stole their souls… and he re-animated vessels for them so they could then serve him under the blackmail of Zotia owning their soul, and under the hopes that one day Zotia will give it back if they appease him. -Zotia- created their spirits' forms… so of course they would be tough. =P
@Glass: Thank you! =3 and thank you once again for the art x3
@Black Shimmer: Miyoko is like, "Neva! Shops have cookies too!" X3
Aww thank you for liking the writing, it's fun to do. I've been writing for much longer than I have been drawing… It doesn't show much when you're talking to me directly though, as sophisticated words don't suit the tone I want to convey. xD But yea, I imagine Miyoko's voice as soft too…
But I always draw lines over the eyes XD;; Unless they're open normally. Her eyes look more detailed with just the shiny bit and the shading? Seriously? They're just like that when she's using/ actively-sensing energy, but I prefer the normal style… xD
@Ickus: Wow thank you for reading! =3
@Nigellashade: Yaaay I'm so glad you noticed that the Donovan do have personalities too, even if they don't get much of a chance to show it X333 They are indeed humanized… I'm really happy that somebody looked past the fact that they were protagonists to who they actually -were-.
Thank you so much~ I hope you have a great week too!
@Jenshin: I agree, it's usually the light that wins overall, on the -whole- scheme of things… but that does not exclude the possibility of individual losses to the darkness =3
@JoeyOtaka: They were still recognisable -as- those characters, they just looked really different in the way they were coloured/shaded xD
@Dragonzilla: Hopefully =3
@JillyFoo: XDD heehee you're on the same wave-length as subcultured
@DRose: Aww thank you =3
@cameron: … ouch. xDD
@dracco: Hopefully as the effects of the arrow worsen, it'll become more understandable what those effects -are-. For now though… The Donovan -are- shadow, it's what they're made of. And now it's coming out of the head-wound…
@subcultured: xDD you're the second person to say that!
