Ignorant King Duncan
Conned onINSPIRED BY SHAKESPEARE HIMSELF!
An Acrylic painting on canvas inspired by the Shakespearian play Macbeth. Personal interpretation of King Duncan walking through his gardens ignorant of all the death symbolism surrounding him (the crows).
The crow is animal symbolism of death, it is also a technique used to forshadow Duncan's death and is mentioned by Lady Macbeth.
This is the first piece which I used the swurling of the paint to indicate movement and the different types of blues in the sky add to the painting's vibrant look.
The message (so to speak) that I'm bringing across is that Duncan is ignorant of Macbeth's plot against him, the crows represent the dramatic irony as the audience knows and he doesn't.
I love the way this piece turned out :) This is also part of a 2 piece series but I don't have a picture of it so next update will be of another series inspired by a book called Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrel.
