I've had a general sketch of August in my head for 10 years; she's been the female lead in every pseudo-comic I've created. Her personality is an equal mixture of farmgirl and scientist, and tends to be the straight man to the craziness of my main characters. In this iteration, she's harder and younger than in previous versions. She's been working basically as an indentured servant for nine years, so I don't want her coming off as a princess. Sketches have been difficult in this regard, trying to combine the scientist, farmgirl, and hardness in a face. I'm failing so far. Here's one of the better tries.
