I've started most chapters of Shades with a long internal monologue. The first draft of the script for this chapter was no exception and I had Ryan waxing poetic about the nature of victory and defeat.

After several attempts to re-write it in a way that sounded like the sort of thing a person might actually say in this situation, I eventually scrapped it all and replaced it with these few words here. As much as it pains me to say it, sometimes less really is more!
