This page is tinted with an ochre filter, to make it consistent with the last prehistoric sequence in Chapter 8. Unfortunately, I don't think the effect works as well for this open-air scene as it did for the underground cavern, so I may remove it. You can see Qoiri's original (far more vibrant!) colours in the BVC Scrap Book.

Background note: The village buildings here are based on actual neolithic bories in France but, following the discovery of a dry-stone neolithic village in Skara Brae (Orkney), it's not impossible to imagine that there were also similar settlements elsewhere in the UK.
