Background trivia: In the last chapter I explained why Lord Hungerford was named Hungerford. Now you have his first name, too - Ernal. "Ernal" was the middle name of Oswald Mosley, founder and leader of the British Union of Fascists during the 1930s. (Booooo! Hissss! etc …)

Completely irrelevant trivia: In 1936 the people of East London prevented a march by Moseley's BUF through a predominantly Jewish area, fighting his "blackshirts" through the streets in what came to be known as "The Battle of Cable Street". Little facts like that make me proud to be an East Ender!
