It may be that everyone already knows this but, just in case there are any very, very young 'uns reading who haven't heard of it before, Operation Overlord was the codename for the Allied invasion of Europe in 1944 and, specifically, for the D-Day landings in Normandy (think Saving Private Ryan!)
