I've said before that my liking for showing the characters' thoughts during combat is a technique inspired directly by Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. However, Boo's internal dialogue in the last two panels of this page come so close to a certain sequence in DKR (ref. Book 1, page 31 for anyone who's interested!) that I tried desperately to find different words.

In the end I couldn't think of anything that I liked as much as these lines, so I let them stand. Consider them a tribute!
