Design note
Back in Chapter 9, we saw Stan measuring Doug for a new suit (and doing it very sneakily, too!) I guess he must have known his old friend wouldn't be able to stay out of it once the nasties began to hit the fan! Anyway, this is the finished version of that suit!

My original plan was for Doug's outfit to be pale blue with white trimmings, like the camouflage on the underside of a fighter plane. The idea was that this would have complemented the brown and green of Ryan's suit (which is supposed to be reminiscent of the camouflage on the top of an aircraft).

Unfortunately, when we tried Doug in those colours, he just didn't look right. For some reason he looked weak and puny, so I backtracked and decided to make the predominant colour the same brown we used for his old WW2 flying jacket. So … not quite what I'd intended but he still looks rather dashing!
