When I was first figuring out Ten’s disease, I happened across a poem that sums up his situation perfectly:

My candle burns at both ends
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends –
It gives a lovely light.

Ten’s description of what’s wrong with him is a little watered down, mostly because I wanted to fit it all on this page, but that’s the gist of it. Bad things abound.
