In memory of Mitsuharu Misawa (1962-2009)

First of all, I want apologize for missing last Friday's and this Monday's updates. Something very important in my job came up and I wasn't able to work in those day's pages. However, to compensate this, this week's Thursday and Friday I will be updating 2 pages each day…So keep tuned for that.

It was a shock to me to learn about Misawa's death this weekend. I'm a huge Puroresu (Japanese Pro-Wrestling) fan and Misawa was one of my favorite wrestlers of all time around the world (only second to the Flying Assasin Hayabusa, another tragic story).

Misawa got huge popularity in the 80's as the second Tiger Mask. In the 90's, using his real name, Misawa became a 5-time All Japan Pro-Wrestling Triple Crown Champion and in early 2000 he leaved All Japan to form Pro-Wrestling NOAH, now considered as the best wrestling promotion in the world along with USA's Ring of Honor and Mexico's Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre.

He had matches with other great wrestlers as Mil Máscaras, The Great Mutah, Jumbo Tsuruta, Jun Akiyama, Kenta Kobashi, Takeshi Morishima and Samoa Joe.

Most tragic of all, is the fact that Misawa died during a match, takin badly a suplex and suffering a heart attack…

Most of the times, wrestling is dismissed as "fake" and not getting any respect at all, regardless the huge risk that the performers take to entretain the fans. Things like that put a few things in perspective…At least to me…

Sorry about the ranting. As I mentioned before, I'm really a wrestling geek…
