Nothing like the convincing speech of a gun…

I've always been intrigued about why villians want to announce to the hero their nasty intentions instead of just…you know, just kill them…

I've come to the conclusion that the villains that do this are really addicted to power. For a few seconds, the villian have the greatest power of all: The power over life and death of another human being. By just pushing a button or pulling a trigger, the mere movement of a finger, the villain can terminate with the live of a hated enemy.

The sensation should be so powerful and overwhelming that the bad guy (or girl) just NEEDS to enjoy the moment…

Or, of course, is the resource of a lazy, unimaginative writer…You decide…
