Nomad's Forge

on

"While Nomads are known for their reckless and arrogant behavior and lack of respect for rules, it should be noted the strict sense of duty that they keep in order to follow their own creed and traditions, being the so called "Birth by Steel" one of the most well known:

When the young Nomad reaches the 17 years old, all training and education that he/she have been receiving since age 3 is suspended in order to perform one single duty: The forge of his/her own sword.

To complete such task, it's given a year. During such time, the young Nomad most found all materials needed by any means necessary, and then build and test the sword by him/herself.

Once the year is over, the young Nomad must reach the Shrine, only Nomad temple known, builded in honour of Kromm, God of Life and War, in order to the High Priest bless the sword and perform a ritual combat (usually against one of the parents or a teacher).

During that combat, the young one must be cutted once by the rival, in order to be 'tested by the Steel' and manage to cut the rival back, in order to get his/her own sword being 'aproved by Kromm'.

Once the ritual has ended, the Nomad is considered an adult, and is free to 'walk his/her own path'.

While most Nomads decide to go on it's own, it isn't uncommon that some stay with their clan, specially if it's a large one."

In other words, Nomads are weird folks…

In their original stages, "Shaman Quest" was a Medieval-Fantasy story… I didn't considered to do the Sci-Fi aproach until some months later.

So, all those swords are prototypes of Cyrus' Buster Blade. I really don't know why I choosed to go with the current design, since I'm very proud of all those models…

I guess that I just closed my eyes and picked one…

This one was modeled and rendered on Cinema 4D.

Take care and CYA!!!

Remember, Chapter 5 begins on Monday!!!
