This comic sums up a whole lotta issues in a very subtle way. I love my girl and she loves me. She does art and drawings and comics of her own, and she was somewhat of a 'dabbler' in the webcomic scene, long before she met me. Still, she doesn't read my comics. She's SEEN them. She's read a couple, and, yeah, God knows I crap out random comic ideas that don't really go anywhere by the buttload. She digs The Misfits of Mischief, but that's about the extent of her knowledge of my comics goes. I have brought this up to her a couple of times, and she insists that she "sees them while I am drawing them".
I appreciate the half-hearted attempt to soothe my wounded ego, but, seeing my dumb scribbles in the blue-pencil/no ink/no dialogue stage is like saying "Yeah, I saw that Brad Bird guy scribbling. I think he was drawing a cowboy and a space man. I guess he's doin' some sorta "Weird Western Tales" thing? Sure, I was payin' attention. It was OK. I'm sure WHATEVER he was making will be decent. I think he worked for some animation company called 'Pixel' or Nexar or something?"
No, I'm not saying that I am anywhere NEAR as good as Brad Bird/Pixar, I just needed a pop culture reference that everyone could dig. I almost went with Leonardo DiVinci. You get my point.
