okay, AS I said before, Bellingham Washington had its share of weirdoes and strange happenings. While I did NOT actually see THIS happen, it was brought up in a oonversation at the local coffeeshop I frequented back then. I overheard someone discussing Georgia O'Keefe, and that was a joke some one made. I have, however, seen nude "performance art", once, on the streets of The Ham, as well as a crate of kittens just sitting there, abandoned on the streets. (They were unshaven).
Now, this strip is a problem, as I have remade it several times. FIVE, I think. If I can find all five versions, I will post them here. But, this was the first one, and I think, the comic that really got the triplets stuck in my brain in this version. Also, one of the earlier signs of that weird comics OCD I've developed, where I keep remaking, remixing and recreating my old comics for use in newer projects.
Originally, when I created the first version of them, as a kid, these triplets were the nephews, of one Gonzales DelPenguin - my first ongoing comic character, my first personal avatar, and, my first furry character, even though I don't think that was really a "THING" in the early 80s… plus, he was a penguin. Sdo, not really "furry".
Anywho, This is also probably the first time I portrayed Dennis as somewhat urban, Daniel as a pseudo-intellectual, and Donald as 'a little slow', or, at least "innocent".
