Speaking of haircuts… More Sophie Novarro and the return of Ginger Hannigan. This was about the time IRL that I was really getting into superhero themed t-shirts! I started collecting those puppies, and popping them onto a good many of my comic characters. The girl in the Martian Manhunter Tee would become named "Vinnie", short for Lavinia, who was a girl I once had a crush on. Another comic trend I would pick up from here would be 'girls with boys names'. Vinnie would recur and get grouped with three friends named 'Reggie', 'Dave' and 'Clyde'. All girls.
This would be the last we'd see of the triplets for a couple of years until I tried them again in a project called "Rabies and Cake". I think this was definitely my "Slice-Of-Life" comic period. A concept that I just couldn't get right, due to my belief that I didn't "understand normality", so I was unable to write it.
Yeah, I could be a pretentious li'l emo git at times. Unfortunately, I programmed myself with that wrong-headed notion and it got DEEPLY entrenched.
This scenario (which went nowhere), was, like a lot of comics of that day, inspired by "Friends". I mean, why would I think 6 people would live together in one apartment… oh, wait. That happened to me. Nevermind.)
