#50 Master of Myst.

Number 50! Hurray! At this level, I will certainly gain numerous new feats, and abilities. Maybe even upgrade to a prestige class!

Myst was one of the first games I really got into. In the era of the years of our lord: 1995 and 1996, there were but a few majestic titles I was completely enamored with. Those were Myst, Descent, and Raptor.

Anyone who doesn't know what Myst is should be reprimanded with hurtful words. For those of you who dont, it's basically a series of 1st person puzzle solving games with a deep, interesting story.
The gameplay is bound in stills(excluding myst 5), allowing outstanding visuals, graphics, and sound. For example, the original Myst was first released in 1993, and it's graphics were like that of the ps2, followed by Riven whose graphics were that of the 360, along with exile. Number 4(revelation)'s graphics were just unfair. They were scary. The realism was so intense, that I was instantly incinerated by it's sheer radiance. 5 was pretty sweet, too.

Descent was pretty impressive for it's time, too. It was a fully rendered, 3-D shooter, in which you piloted a sort of hovering "spacecraft" through mazes of underground tunnels, or facilities. It had different weapons which you could use to fire upon floating robot thingies. And, you had to collect keys. They floated, too. It was way awesome.

And, then there was raptor. It was one of those games where you have a jet, and it flys in an upward "scroll". Yeah. Those are great. But, this one was a little different. Unlike it's arcade counterparts where you would collect powerups, and lay waste to countless squads of planes with vastly immense machine guns, and fabulous bombs, it had weapons that you had to earn through purchasing(with currency!). These weapons were a little more realistic. For example, your machine gun wasn't the size of a god damned truck. Maybe a mini cooper at best. You could buy air to air or air to ground missles. There were these unguided small missles that would fire really fast. There was a big gatling gun you could purchase. That was pretty sweet. The game was very hard. Very challenging. I really quite enjoyed it. I miss it. I haven't been able to play it for years.
