I'm tired of crappy science journalism like this.

Just because a couple of quacks put together a conference does not mean that a field of research is truly open to discussion again. Where's your hypothesis cold fusion morons? Why should it happen when it stands contrary to our modern understanding of nuclear science? Because you want it to?
