Okay, in case nayone can't read the text, here's what it says… (Panel 4) Long, long ago, the God of Chaos lived on the mortal plane. He was a being of calm nature, but posessed great power. Naturally, the mortals of that time wished to steal this power. Their folly sparked the god's wrath. None were spared. (Panel 5) Well, that's not entirely true. Before the enraged God could destroy all life, a preistess of great spiritual power stopped his rampage. By sacrificing her own life, she was able to seal him way within an ancient artifact known as the Master Emerald. (Panel 6) But, to prevent the god from simply breaking free of the seal, the preistess had to remove his power. Splitting it into seven equal parts, she sealed each within seven other emeralds, while the God's soul and herself were bound within the master emerald. The seven emeralds, possesed with this power, were named 'The Chaos Emeralds'. (Panel 7) The surviving mortals, left to repopulate earth, were left with the question of how to use the Chaos Emeralds. The echidnas, the mortals that incited the god's wrath to begin with, feared their chaotic power and gave them to another group of survivors to guard, The Hedgehogs. Those hedgehogs were my ancestors. Since that day, we have trained our sons to guard the Chaos Emeralds from those that would use them foolishly. (Panel 8) Unfortunately, one son was unwilling to accept that responsibility…
