Of Mist and Smoke chapter 2

A roller coaster ride. You here that little sentence in the entertainment industry way to often. It's used to describe everything from film to…well..roller coasters.
When I sat down to originally write and draw SoulDriver, I had literally a roller coaster in mind. The large first hill, the intensity you feel as the chains clank and the cars jerk while you make your way to the top. And that brief moment where time seems to stand still, the end of the track that disappears into nothing just before you race down the first drop at break neck speed.
So here we are. Chapter 1 was the first hill. I've had some creators mention that it felt like it belonged somewhere else in the story. I wanted it to start in that fashion, to establish certain rules and boundaries along with 5 important characters. And more importantly the rule that nothing is as it seems.
The coolest thing about web comics for me is you. Fellow readers and creators. The opportunity to post work and getting the chance to tell you what I was thinking when I created them and getting your feedback almost immediately is priceless. Thanks to everyone that's supported the book and me. You are greatly valued as readers and friends..Okay enough B.S…enjoy. Jim
