#2: Introducing Sydney 2
Torino onThis is my favourite page so far! I had a lot of fun making up those stupid magazines. The second-last frame is my favourite.
Sydney really does turn up frequently in these 'most liveable cities' list, much more than any other Australian city, which always seemed a bit odd to me given how expensive things tend to be there. It really depends on the list though. I'm starting to see more and more lists that put Melbourne ahead of Sydney, but there are an awful lot that don't have Melbourne on them at all. But if they ever turn up on the same list, it's usually Melbourne that's in front of Sydney….but only if it's a top 10. Given Sydney's ego, he tends to make a much huger deal about being in a top 10 than Melbourne does….Melbourne only tends to care when he's ahead of Sydney. More on that in the next strip.
Sadly for Melbourne I've yet to see him on one of the 'most beautiful city' lists. And I'm sure it's the 'beautiful' ranking Sydney cares much more about.
Here are some of the lists, if anyone's interested. Is your city there?
Most Beautiful:

Most Liveable:
http://www.businessweek.com/interactive_reports/livable_cities_worldwide.html Sydney just made it in at 9 here, and he's way ahead of Melbourne at 17.
Most Popular:

(this amuses me because in the picture of Sydney the sky looks an apocalyptic green)
Of course there's a lot more lists. There's also the most liveable cities' rankings on Wikipedia, which really differ depending on the list.
