The Way of Clover

I have a superpower: I can casually glance at a clover patch and spot most or all of the four leaf clovers in it.

Therese is very knowledgeable about genetics, and actually studied this sort of thing (genetics, not clover hunting) in college. She was delighted when I told her that four leaf clovers are a genetic mutation that grows in predictable patterns within a patch. (Yes, that's the secret to my superpower.) And so, in the spring of 2020, deep in the first Covid lockdown, we found ourselves in Carson Park in Eau Claire, WI, looking for lucky clovers.
