Figuring out Melli.

Melli has been tough to understand, body-wise. She's fit and fat. Fucking THICK, anyway. But I keep imagining her launching these deadly kicks when she's fighting. There's this need for her to be able to break necks with her legs, yet here's my own distinct disgust with body building culture in general, I guess.

Part of what I want STINGIR-LZ to show off has already been done. Look at any Street Fighter game after Chun-Li, or any King of Fighters/Fatal Fury game after Mai Shiranui, and you see developers obsessively imagining these thick, curvy-but-muscular fighters nearly by necessity.

Melli is someone who I hope will exceed that unrealistic cliche. She's muscular, but not the realization of physical domination. She's just super-stacked and able to kick you through a fucking wall.

The problem keeps being trying to balance those body types. I want her to have all this fat, but I want her to have deadly muscle under it.

And Melli has just become too… I dunno. Real?

People can't just fly around all over the place with obscene juice in tow, but Melli is ridiculously proportioned and still somehow able to launch into the air and scissor-kick her opponent's nose into a 2-color rorschach on the ceiling.

I guess she's becoming too cartoonish and too realistic at the same time. I'm killing myself working on all this, but I'm starting over on Melli.

I don't know if this is getting better or worse. Any thoughts?
