I went back and forth a lot between this obvious symbolic sort of image or one that fit the story and would just kind of parallel this imagery. My alternate plan was a slim cigarette lying across an ashtray in this exact same position to be magicianish. I didn't think it would read correctly, so I stuck with the wand and top hat.

I was working on a Halloween picture for Used Books, and my EOD date for work is approaching fast (less than a week), which is the reason for my sporadic pauses in productivity. I am also in the middle of meetings and paperwork for a new job.

I really need to get on typing up my piles of disorganized notebook paper, which comprise a large chunk of this story. Lol. But maybe I'll make a Strange Creatures Halloween thing too. You know, to procrastinate. I have no idea what I'd draw.
