There actually IS some kind of history to this one: archeologists found some sculptures in Ife in the beginning 20th century which resembled nothing known. They look more like greek sculptures than african, but there is no foreign influence. A real mystery…

I imagine the poor guy who came up with this radically new method and broke with the traditions :)

The dialogue can be read like this:
"Huh?"

"Heretic!"
"What was he thinking?"

"Uh…"
"There you are!"

"Come with us!"

"What IS this all about?"
"You really don't know?"

"No."

"This."

"You too have to respect the traditions."

"Therefore GO! You are banished!"
