Dorm Life

I've missed you guys. It's good to be back and posting something new, despite how long it is (I'm sorry!). I always like to keep track of these statistics and retell them to you, so allow me to share. This one has 618 individual frames in it, 275 of which are unique. It wasn't particularly difficult animating, it was just repetitive to the max. And I love coming out with something that looks and feels pretty good. Granted, I could clean everything up a touch, but I just don't have that kind of time (or dedication). I need a new project.

Holy gods in heaven, this animation is long. But, I do believe it accurately describes a single evening in my dormitory. It's just like when you went to college! Only…y'know, with Super Smash Brothers. Playing video games in college has effectively ruined the innocense of the art form. What used to be a good time with a bunch of friends has now become an opportunity to expand my hidden, besmirched lexicon.

And I don't mean to say that college is full of drinking but… Yeah, that seems to be the case. For some reason, my wing is relatively calm until quiet hours begin. Then all kinds of shit seems to hit the fan. It makes for an atmosphere that never gets boring. In fact, later today, I do believe a handful of guys are going to try to chug a gallon of milk each in an hour's time. I look forward to this occasion with great reserve. My roomate is one of the chuggers (that's not a racist term), so I hope he stays out of the room 'till he finishes.

Whoever got the Duck up and running again is the man. The new style is appealing, easy to navigate, and a pleasure to work with. Both the front page and the "My Controls!" section have gotten all kinds of necessary tweaks. Thanks DD staff. Thanks for letting me do this again.

And as I am back on the Duck, it's always been a pleasure of mine to point out comics I enjoy. I've found a handful of new ones since the overhaul. You may remember Elliot. He's a personal favorite of mine from back in the day along with Terminal and his crazy radio, which I suggest you check out. In the new category, Jemelis's work reminds me a lot of the Elfquest saga. And swisscheese has an excellent style that progresses the story nicely. Also, a new humorous comic whose archives I'm trying to get through is done by Squeegee. Finally, don't forget the far too talented tweebus. Now, if only he'd make some more!

It's definitely good to have the Duck back. I'll be sure to try to get more (shorter) stuff up. Untill I see you next time, Enjoy!
