This is actually a joke that was discovered around last Christmas. I've just been slow with actualizing it. This one is 84 frames, 50 or so of which are unique. It's a nice moderation between the last two. This happens to be the first time I've attempted a moving background and a zoom. They turned out alright, I like to think. Also, this animation would convert nicely into a comic, which is another reason why I like it. It's very sequential and has a distinct punchline. But that's just me.
Before I start ranting about other things (it has been a while since I've updated last), I want to touch on a few comics that more people should read, in a kind of feature that I may or may not dub "Why Aren't More People Reading These Comics?!?" The first is Tomb of the King. Jemelis has wonderful artwork, similar to Elf Quest, and a fast moving story. The archives aren't too terribly extensive, and they read fast. More people should be heading over there and dropping comments her way.
Another comic that needs reading is Kitty Litter. While the concept of a talking, malevolent cat isn't entirely novel, (are there any nice cats in comics?) slackmatic's art and story is pretty good. And with daily updates on weekdays, it doesn't get much better than that. Though, I must admit, there have been a lot of comments left yesterday, so it seems others have been picking up the slack.
Finally, a comic that I've mentioned a few times before and still have seen only a small increase in comments on is Miami Sound Machine. The story is absolutely engrossing. Go to the beginning and read through. When you get to the animated parts, it'll blow you away.
No offense to the venerable hpkomic, but I do not need structure, permission, nor community involvement when I promote other comics. If I find a comic I like, whether it is getting enough views or not, I'll throw its name out. Sure, today's bit consisted of comics that I feel aren't getting enough views, but only a few updates ago I was throwing out links to Pinky TA and Mad World, both of which get plenty of views and comments on their own merits. I just like these comics. Is it a crime to link to successful comics? I want to make sure everyone sees them.
That out of the way, let's talk Olympics. Sweden took the gold in both men's hockey and women's curling: the two sports that really matter. Honestly, hockey kicks ass. Also, if there's one sport that women deserve to earn a medal in, it should be sweeping. (Ba-zing! Shh…did you hear that? It sounded like every female reader clicking their back button at the same time.) So I was happy for that. Also, I expect some sort of international restraining order soon coming from my sweet, sweet Svaerd.
Wait, shit! That wasn't the right link. That was a different curling link. Here is my sweet, sweet Svaerd.
Alright, I think that covers my author's notes this time around. (Does it irk anyone else that next to this box for author's notes it says "Authors Notes" with no apostrophe?) Keep on truckin', stay funny, make more comics, and don't waste your time with women who lie. Enjoy!
[Edit: Sorry for the premature update. I think I might be clinically retarded.]
[Edit #2: Just found this comic today, a throwback to the old days on the Duck. MC L33T (stock, now) has a new comic called STOCK. Look at it. Leave a comment. Favorite them shits.)
