I never understood this riddle…I'm confused when it says "one of us" which means either one of them is it.
Yet I figure out a riddle that says that sort of thing here:
Make 26 cents with two coins, one of them is not a quarter.
What are both coins?

Answer: a penny and quarter.
ONE of them isn't a quarter, which means the other one CAN be a quarter.
