Remember the talking food of the 80's? Since McD's doesn't advertise to kids anymore (for the most part) you won't see talking food anymore.

But I grew up with talking food. And I always wondered why they were either OK with you eating their kind.

Another point is that while most of the general public's powers are useless, some are borderline like Kim's: Useful, but not super-useful.
