The artwork for the most part turned out really well. I had a random stranger comment on my rough sketches (I was working on them in public)that it was good, and then asked if it was anime or manga.

It's neither, and for me it's not a compliment to compare my style to anime or manga, since I'm not trying to mimic it. Skull Girl looks more "anime" lately, but I've made some adjustments based on an actual half Japanese, half Irish singer who looked a lot like Molly. As anime/manga is actually a highly stylized take on Asian people… on half-Japanese (half Irish) Molly, it works. (But the moment you apply it to a non-Asian individual it doesn't)

Art discussions aside – Molly just pulled the classic villain's gambit and has every reason to be proud of herself.
