Voltage and Cursive go back a ways. When she first started out in the '90's, she was one of those "Dark Heroes" that was popular at the time. She didn't enjoy the role at all and Voltage's flippant behaviour initially annoyed the heck out of her, being new and trying to do things seriously.

Later, when she had become fed up with her horrible costume and awful persona (she didn't create her own) she really appreciated his clowning around. She later quit and created her two new persona to temp with – Cursive and "Goodnight Gracie" Jones. Voltage still acts flippant around her, which now that she's temping annoys her again, but their relationship is more sibbling-like than anything else.
