Some Early Medieval facts of life. Though this is a fantasy I used a liberal dose of history. I am a savvy enough student of history where I can pick apart conglomerate fantasy cultural creations. Most leave a real bad taste in my mouth. So I play it straight. Call it creative laziness or just that I don't want to create a bunch of new silly names. Would it be any better if I went through some linguistic somersaults and called Mongols for example Donghu or Xiong?
I like Vikings and Norse Vikings they will remain. Ragnar identifies the guy as Hengist Egillson. Jarl Egill was one of the leaders of the invasion and Halfdan Egillson was mentioned earlier by King Falkimir. They just might be brothers.
This page again has lots of talk because the original had a few more panels cluttering up the page. The original draft for Go a Viking! done as wide page width frames on top of one another rather than panel on a page. The narrative didn't flow. It was my first comic and there was and is lots to learn.
