A day late, but I had to work some long hours and I am finding it hard to get into my work rhythm. Since this is becoming more and more complex re-work of the original I'm finding page composition more of a challenge.
Well actually, it's because the original is just so awful that there's more work to be done than I had anticipated.
This page Halfdan goes into action with his "Big Fucking Hammer" of BFH. The prop is actually labeled "Big Fucking Hammer" in runic. Since I couldn't find one it was built up from wood and plastic. A metal hammer of that size would be too heavy to pose with the figure. Wrist joints just aren't that strong. Halfdan's battle cry is "Fuck you up, for your own good." A reference that anyone on the receiving end is getting the full grace and blessing of the gods as he gets his brains smashed out.
It also made for amusing gameplay back in the day. The player would go through all this "Fuck you up!" and the die roll would be a pitiful miss. But one doesn't have to worry about that here. Let's just say all the pathetic misses were edited out for brevity or that the Halfdan is a better fighter than the D&D game system allowed him to be. Once I experienced other game systems, I found D&D to be crap. But it attained a popularity all out of proportion to how representative of reality it was as a game system.
Page had to be re-done because of a silly mistake on the panel outlines.
