And revealed. Glorianna is Princess Arianne of Nasnor. Countess Orshia is leader of the Nasnor archers. Get it? Countess Orshia is a noble in Nasnor and Princess Arianne is her suzerain. (e.g. feudal overlord. In this case a princess over a countess.)

A sorceress cannot marry or rule. The duty of a princess is to marry and secure alliances and if the eldest; rule. As a sorceress, Glorianna could do neither so daddy proclaimed her dead effectively disinheriting her. Way back on page 10 Orshia said she was going to talk to a certain scribe. Glorianna could only keep ducking her for so long and it was a long day and she's tired and that last cup of wine she's a little tipsy and lets her magic slip a bit– and Orshia at last catches up to her.
