Before there were Grey Guys there were the homunculi. I saw the artist model figures and they were on sale and I seized upon them as "blanks" or a homunculus. But when production stopped and I did Attack of the Robofemoids they became the aliens and the rest is history. Who knows maybe the Grey Guys originated as these magically created homunculi.

Traditionally a homunculus was a "little man" used as a familiar or servant of a sorcerer. Here I have gone with a later definition of any created man as a homunculus. In studies both the golem and Frankenstein monster are referred to as homunculi. Again traditionally a homunculus is created through alchemy and given life through sorcery? Lightning perhaps or blood or a bespelled piece of paper placed in the mouth. But here they are "soulless ones" created through dark magic. I'm pretty sure that much like Frankenstein monster there is some vivisection involved.
