As any Klingon will tell you, there are those who die well, and then there are these– people–

The attacks were occurring nearly simultaneously so these two probably saw the Searsha skewer the first guy and Ivar chop the second and that was enough for them. The one Halfdan attacked was in such retreat that it was all Halfdan could do to graze him. Note HD's overreach there.

There probably is a smell of urine too. Somebody probably soiled himself. But Vikings have a semblance of discretion and as these guys are pretty pathetic, no need to rub it in by pointing that out.
