A special announcement
bravo1102 onA farewell page.
I decided to put Searsha and Larya in suits similar to what they were wearing in the recent role-play round robin over in the forums.
As they may be retiring and heading off to other roles, gives me a chance to see what they look like in more modern attire.
This is the farewell page. I'm done with trying to reboot this again. The two sorceresses explain it. I hate the plot. I hate the stupid melodrama and staid pseudo-medieval fantasy formula that this has devolved into.
And it comes back to what I'm putting into this as opposed to what I'm getting out. Too serous and every change-up I try is a total "meh". I wish I could do this in colored pencils or watercolor wash. I was good back in the day, but I wouldn't make it past two panels. My wrist and elbow are too far gone. I barely managed the three presentations for the DD Awards and those were simple cartoons.
So I'm stuck between a bad medium, bad writing and dying to write something that isn't so heavy. It's dull to turn out the pages. It's dull to read back through them to clean up stuff or to get the feeling for the story to get myself to do more writing.
I have been home recovering from my surgery for nearly a month and I pounded out a 20+ page horror science fiction drek piece starring Belinda Brandon's sister. Whole thing and it's all done except for some commentary from star, director, writer and producer. I enjoyed doing it and I have the cast all set up for an awful dark jungle temple kind of thing with Belle and Trish.
And I've been doing research for the next installments in the robofemoid saga. Gunwallace helped me pull together the next script so that's waiting to be done. There are three Belinda Brandon scripts ready to go after I wing this next thing.
I'm just going to pose figures and shoot without a script and the barest of outlines and see where it goes. No horses or angst but lots of boobs and damsels in distress and more action.
I really want to do something like Jerrie does. Big hat off to him. I love how he can keep story to a minimum and just set up great action scene after great action scene. I get bogged down with explaining things and characters and the fun drains out of the creative process.
Like Sword of Kings Fallopian Crusader said something about no good sword and sorcery story here and he was researching pre-patriarchal religions. That's how I came up with the sorceresses. That's why this epic is set when it is set, pre-patriarchal times when it is god the mother. Just didn't go far enough in making it stand out. The half finished novels are different since I had pages to go over the matrilinial culture. But I watered it down for the comic going more with the simple mechanics I did for the RPG game world.
And instead got hip deep in a political morass that kept giving me Game of Thrones flashbacks. I know I plotted this all out way before the series or even the books came out. But now it just looks like a knock-off.
A lot of figures and costumes and even some of the characters will appear in various Belinda Brandon stories. Larya will co-star in Crimson Sash, Searsha has a recurring role as a S.I.G. sector chief (though just a touch older with a teen daughter)
So many ideas bubbling up that I want to go with them rather than weigh myself down with this. Oh well, see you over on Belle's Best. Or not. Awful lot of objectification and victimization of women going on over there. But every once in a while maybe it'll rise above that.
