Behind the scenes at how I put this stuff together.

Those readers with a really sharp eye and memory would spot this figure as being the second officer from the Aordian dreadnought in Tales of SIG.

This is the part she was originally intended for, the "orange" scout. But she really needed new hair so I bought a wig. Wouldn't you know it was too big. It was one of those things I put off forever doing and then when done, couldn't stand. I let it sit awhile as I let the subconscious consider alternatives. The choices were doing her hair from strands or rooting the head. The vinyl was too thick to root and doing strands involves a pile of cutting, layering and ironing. (I was as surprised to find that out as some of you are) Some folks who sell the materials are very helpful though and I foresee some rooting in my future.

Reah will have all new hair in a lovely exotic color.

So I realized I needed this figure for the upcoming scenes and I was not going to recast her. Too much had gone into her creation. So I tore off the wig and gave it a ruthless trim. As ruthless as I could get without losing its shape. And I re-glued it– this time with instant glue so it wouldn't gap and pull up like it had the first time.

And when working with crazy glue the figure can't be in costume. Bad enough ruining my clothes with spilled crazy glue. I am not going to ruin any of their costumes with it.

Oh how I struggle for my art! :D

I wanted those braids. Just had to have those flowing locks of black hair as in all the animes. This figure is actually uses the head and costume of a computer game character who was featured in an anime 20 years ago.

And there's a lot of teasing going on in the background. More on them later, or not.
