I'm not the most sophisticated colorist. Throughout the series, I always tried to make the sky look as though most of the action occurs in the small hours of morning jus before daybreak. I think the idea was to provide the reader with a fantasy of what transpires in world , and what kind of characters are in motion, while most of us are in deep sleep.
A different color palette might have reinforced the idea, but then I worried about it distracting from the story. I am happy with some of the sky effects, though - from photos that I took myself, then tweaked digitally.
