Man, I love this page. It's dominated by the last image, which isn't really a panel, but is what makes this page so great to me. I love both these characters - their designs, their personalities, whatever. The one thing I hate is that Lefeka's wings are just so darn time consuming. I think I took about half an hour on them in that last image-panel-thing, what with drawing them, inking them, and erasing the pencil. My goodness, there were so many eraser shavings after that. Nevertheless I believe I did a good job. She's pretty cool, as simple as her design is. She's the last Dragon you'll see until chapter six.
In fact, these are the last new characters you'll meet until chapter 3. Originally it was going to be in chapter 5, but I had to add some stuff and with it came characters. I don't know what goes on in my mind, but it seems to work okay for me.
If there's a single thing I learned while digitally working on this page, it's that the Wevlynq (whose name you don't know yet) is way too dark for his own good - and for my good. And there are about ten different shades, too, for separate parts and their shading colour. Sigh. I just have to make things complicated for myself.
*EDIT* After having finished a bunch more pages in this darkness style, including one with a box-less panel like this page, I have to say this page isn't quite as spectacular as I'd thought. Yes, it still is awesome, but I could still improve upon it: I rather prefer not having the space between panels dark, and I kind of messed up the area around the date drawn/completed part in the bottom left. I know, I know, less talk and more do. But I don't feel like doing right now. I finish the page, it's finished. I only go back to fix pages if there are spelling or grammar errors because I'm meticulous about those kinds of things. I still think it looks good this way, but I've yet to make a page with nothing to improve.
