I reinstalled Windows on my computer, so I had to reinstall everything else including my scanning program. For some reason it now scans at a different size… so comic pages will be slightly different than before.
I got lazy after finishing April's pages by Easter. I have more time this week to do stuff, but that's not a guarantee that I'll get ahead because I have a short attention span. I'd drawn most of this page that weekend, and, being busy doing a whole bunch of other stuff, I didn't get a lot of drawing practice. So when I came back to finish drawing this page two weeks later… my drawing skills weren't as good as they should have been. Leanael's profile in particular gave me trouble. Her ears still don't look right (well, ear). From now on most of Ciaran's feet hide under his pant legs, not because I don't want to draw them, but because he's that kind of guy. Style stuff.
XeaRi, master of layouts! -_- I hate having to use arrows, but I didn't want to take a whole page to make Ciaran wrap his stupid tail, so I squished too many panels into a page. Anyone confused about those speech bubbles with triangles on them? Mhmm. Those are… well, I don't know what they're called. Thought-speech bubbles, maybe. Ciaran and Lefeka can talk to each other silently, so I had to think of some way to show that.
I love drawing eyes. Ciaran's eye is especially pretty with the gradient. (But I doubt Ciaran would appreciate being called pretty.) There is a reason for the gradient - it's not JUST because I think it's pretty. Leanael's all happy for having one-upp'd the know-it-all. But that's not going to last. Ciaran's got a crazy magical plan all set up. He's so stoic it's funny. He gets stabbed in the tail and his reaction is "…?". I found it funny when I was drawing it, anyway. I realized that he has an awful lot of daggers. He should learn to juggle them. :P
