Tales of Kenah

063: Morality
XeaRi on*Quick note: I now have a navigation bar at the top of the homepage. I'll be adding pages and working on them whenever I have the time (aka not very much). Note that my HTML skills are not brilliant, so the pages will be mostly about function. I'll probably move the character info from the forum to its own page.
So we get a little bit of information on Kenah here. I probably shouldn't say this because it's my idea and story, but I personally find Kenah fascinating. The theory I use for magic is pretty neat, but even cooler is all the mind stuff that goes on. Here's the original written text for this page:

She calculated. He looked almost bored. He didn't move or make any sign that he was even in a fight. He's just playing, she thought. He's trying to frustrate me. In a real fight he wouldn't be standing still like that. It's a good thing both my Planetaries can be invisible. He won't even know what I'm doing.
She was about to execute the first step of her plan when doubt crept into her mind. Is this wise? Is there a better way? Wouldn't this go against my morality?
Wait. What?
She thought about it again. No, there was nothing wrong. Morality? Where had that come from?
But the feeling returned. Unsure, she faltered. Once more, she reasoned with herself.
Well if it isn't my thought, it must be someone else's, she figured. As a Wevlynq, she could sense the emotions of those she was friends with and, if she knew the person well enough, the basis of what they were thinking. But the only people she was that close enough to, her family, were on whole different continent. Still, it wasn't impossible that someone was having an extreme emotion nearby, in which case any Wevlynq should feel it. So where's it coming from?

I don't write a script for my comic pages, but work directly from the novel-style stuff. As you can see, I like to stick to my writing as much as possible for comic dialogue and text. Of course, it's not always possible, and I occasionally have to add extra text. But it's all good in the end. :)
I'll also add the original written text for some of the fight scene pages, because I don't feel the drawings explain it well enough.
Anyway, back to mind stuff. Just in case you're wondering, yes, people can usually tell whether it's their emotion or someone else's, but this case is a little different. You'll also notice that questioning morality isn't so much an emotion as a thought, but again that comes with the case. The problem with this is that you don't really learn about it until much, MUCH later in the story. Poor writing skills and no clue as to what you're doing at the beginning will do that. x.x
