067: Wounded Spirit
XeaRi onWaaaah~! Sorry for taking so damn long… Most of the panels in this page just WOULD NOT cooperate with me. It took me several attempts for each one to get them right. Eventually I was on the last panel for ages and ages. It really sucks being NEARLY done for so long. Fight scenes bring about diverse poses and angles and I'm just not cut out for them. So maybe I can draw. But in my eyes I don't think I'm good enough, because my skills aren't diverse enough. Much pose practice ahead.
Still, I like how the last panel came out. I wish I could do that more often. My friends would comment that in panel two Ciaran's chin is too girly. I'm more or less happy with the drawing of panel seven. There are too many panels in this page.
Ciaran uses his hyperspeed deduction skillz to figure out what's going on. He can feel Leanael's hands and paws on his shoulders and knees, and has his suspicions confirmed when he stabs her and hears her yell. Live spirits are only invisible, not un-sense-able. (Dead spirits are another matter altogether.) It's not uncommon for someone to "use Spirit" (for lack of a way to say it without revealing too much), which you'll see later. So really, he can't see anything he's doing - he's using his other senses.
This page was nearly as bad as the previous one. I have very little practice drawing people interacting, and I ended up drawing a lot of weird angles and things. Luckily I've had quite a bit of practice drawing hands recently, and I'm glad that those at least look somewhat decent.

Her triumph was short-lived, however. He quickly got over his moment of confusion and began to figure it out. He grabbed at the space above his shoulders. She tried to lift her hand but wasn't fast enough. He managed to curl his fingers around her wrist and held fast.
Not good. She couldn't change form when something had a hold on her Spirit. Before she could react, he lifted his dagger and stabbed at her wrist. She let out a cry of pain - her Spirit wasn't silent unless she was - and the wound shimmered and became visible for a moment, a shining silver colour. She instinctively lifted the hand. Ciaran took this chance to punch her in the chest, winding her, then heaved her off of him.

This is a page where I think the original text says it rather better. I tend to find it weird when characters think or talk to explain what's going on (especially idle chatting during a fight - grr), and that's easy to avoid when writing. But alas, I'm not skilled enough for that in comics.
