069: Dragged Down
XeaRi onOkay, I can't stand it. This was originally supposed to update on Saturday, but I'm bored, so here it is now. :P Next page will come Saturday or Wednesday depending on how I feel.
Original text:

Frantically her Spirit shifted into four needles, parallel to each other, connected by a thin string. She hurled herself at his back. It was harder to aim oneself than to throw something and hit, but she managed to embed her points roughly along his spine. He stumbled, pitching forward, but his wings flared, his tail lashed up, and he threw his arms out to balance himself. He kept running.
She took on her feline form again, claws holding fast to the fabric of his shirt, and let the gravity pull them both down. She then reverted to the serpentine shape and slid out from under him as he fell.

'Kay, I made a big mistake. I admit it. (._.) I made the colour for Spirit lavender. Originally it was supposed to be silver, but that's not really a colour and I wasn't sure how I could show it, so I went with an idea I'd had some time ago about it being lavender. But lavender is the colour for another type of magic, and I only realized this when looking at the original text of the next page, where it says silver. So I've gone through the pages and changed the lavender to blue. Or at least, I tried, but they didn't change. Hmm. Anyway, sorry for teh confuzionz.
In the second panel Leanael throws herself at Ciaran. Sort of hard to draw. Although she can manipulate her spirit form, she can't separate it, which is why the string is there. In the second last panel Leanael takes gravity back and unbalances Ciaran. I'm mad at the last panel because it looks really static and too much like the previous one. x_x
I'm tired of drawing Leanael shifting. I realized I forgot to draw her shift in the fourth panel after inking, so I inserted a "sound effect." I'm also tired of drawing Ciaran's armband. But I'm always drawing his right side since that's the side of his face you can see, so then I have to draw the armband too. Well, sometimes I have to draw the armband even from the left side, but that's beside the point.
I was really happy with myself when I finished sketching this page, because 1) I got it finished really quickly, and 2) it looked good. Motivated and in the mood, I inked it. And screwed up a lot. I guess that's normal for me, but it was a bit disappointing. But then I photoshopped the heck out of it, so now it's okay. ^^
Ciaran has expression stuffs! I'd imagine anyone's face would scrunch up at pain. Even if it doesn't move a muscle for joy or sorrow or any of that stuff.
Other note: I took down all the hiatus fillers (both hiatuses - last summer and winter). I left the stuff other people have done for me, because it's awesome. Thank you and sorry to those of you who commented on and rated those drawings. I just felt I had to tidy up the archive a bit.
