Original text: I can't let him win, she told herself. For myself, for Vark, for Xeari. I can't lose. She slowly got up, her body shaking slightly from having to support her weight after all the exertion, and stood defiantly. "Maybe not," she replied grimly. *** What with the dozens of webcomics I follow, I get confused when a new page comes up that follows the page before and I can't remember what happened. This page does that, and I skipped the update last week, and you might have to go back one to remember what Leanael's talking about in the last panel here. So… sorry about that.
Oh wow, I'd almost forgotten what it was like to tone. This page was relatively simple so I thought I'd tone it. Didn't shade, though - I forgot, and then by the time I remembered I was finished and really didn't want to go back.
Comments by panel: 1: I wish it had turned out better. It looked nicer in the thumbnail. 2: I think I'm getting better at body profiles. It's my favourite panel - the pose looks more natural. 3: Ciaran just doesn't seem the same to me when his ears aren't sticking out. :P But I'm trying to draw more accurately, so they're like this. I considered putting in text - a thought bubble with "Oh?" or even just "…", but it seemed to kill the silence. I don't know if this way is better. 4: Messed up her face, although you can't really tell. 5: AUGH THE HANDS. Her left looked even worse than this before - I had to redraw it in Photoshop, it was so bad. 6: Only thing is the chest/shoulder area looks a little wonky.
Overall: - I had fun drawing shaky lines. - I find this sequence to be dramatic and stuff, but maybe that's just my mind making it out to be more than it is. - It's supposed to be kinda zoomy-turny with each panel. I think.
